Saona Island or Isla Saona is a tropical island located a short distance from the mainland on the southeast tip of the Dominican Republic, near the La Romana Province. It is a government protected nature reserve and a popular destination for tourists. The Island is famous for the natural beauty of its beaches, and has been used in many movies and TV commercials.

The seas around the Island are rich in wildlife, showcasing many species of tropical marine fish. The waist-deep shallow waters provide a pristine opportunity for snorkeling and discovering fields of starfish.

Isla Catalina was discovered by Christopher Columbus. The entire island is made from coral stone and has three overlapping plateaus. Isla Catalina, discovered by Christopher Columbus, measures a mere 10 square kilometers in size but is packed with natural beauty.
